Gulf Insurance Group – Jordan is one of the leading insurance companies in the Kingdom of Jordan, distinguished by its comprehensive services and continuous commitment to innovation. The company was established in 1996 under the name Arab Orient Insurance Company and later became part of Gulf Insurance Group (GIG) in 2009, subsequently adopting the name Gulf Insurance Group – Jordan.

Gulf Insurance Group is one of the largest and most diversified insurance groups in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with its headquarters located in the State of Kuwait.

In 2023, Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (Fairfax) became the largest shareholder in Gulf Insurance Group, acquiring a 90% stake following its purchase of 46.32% of KIPCO’s shares. Fairfax subsequently increased its ownership in the Group to 97%. Fairfax is a holding company that operates primarily through its subsidiaries in property and casualty insurance, reinsurance, and related investment management activities.

The corporate objective of Fairfax is to achieve high returns on invested capital and build long-term value by managing Fairfax and its subsidiaries for the long-term benefit of clients, employees, shareholders, and the communities in which it operates. The company’s headquarters are located in Toronto, Canada.

Over the years, Gulf Insurance Group – Jordan has developed a comprehensive range of insurance solutions, including Medical Insurance, Motor Insurance, General and Engineering Insurance, Life Insurance, Marine Insurance, Travel Insurance, in addition to other insurance products that provide both comprehensive and supplementary coverage for individuals and corporate clients alike.

As a confirmation of its performance and financial stability, Gulf Insurance Group – Jordan stands out as having obtained the highest credit rating awarded to a Jordanian company by the global rating agency AM Best, with an A- (Excellent) rating for Financial Strength Rating and an a- (Excellent) rating for Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating, with a stable outlook for both ratings. It is worth noting that Gulf Insurance Group – Jordan is the first insurance company in the Jordanian market to achieve this level of rating.

The company’s head office is located in Amman near the 3rd Circle, supported by an extensive branch network across the Kingdom. Additional branches are located in Mecca Street, Abdali, King Hussein Business Park, Shmeisani, 8th Circle, 2nd Circle, Taj Mall, Abdali Mall, Irbid, and Aqaba, ensuring ease of access to services for clients throughout Jordan.
